Well I was in the garage most of today went and picked up some nice aluminum Diamond plate and made a new skid plate and installed it onto the car and love it. It looks nicer and is lighter weight than my previous 2 skid plates.

I even used a Ralliart stencil to paint ( R A L L I ///// ///// A R T ) onto the skid plate in black as it shows well against the shiny diamond plate, will try and post pictures of fabrication and install this weekend.

First a picture of the old plate as this is what I used as my reference.

Now a picture of the new sheet of light weight Aluminum Diamond plate being used for the new version.

Work Table set up.

Now positioning and screwing the old plate to the new diamond plate so it can be traced and holes marked out.

Close up of stencil.

Masking for the stencil.

Just a quick comparison of the old and new plates.

Making one of the new design features, the tabs that will support the bottom edge of the inner fender liners giving them the support to be able to hold up under extreme pressure of massive snow build up in the wheel wells in the winter.

Car ready for plate install.

Plate ready to go on the car.

Overview shot before second repair piece added for passenger side as there were huge chunks missing so therefore no material to attach to on that side.

Overview shot after fabricating a secondary piece of diamond plate and attaching it to front bumper cover now skid plate has something to attach to.

Opening for oil filter service

Doing final modifications to open up Oil drain plug access hole a little bigger.
