Default Evo X Turbo Swap ;)

I just finished installing the Evo X turbo and making a custom SRI,
Which is all a pain in the fucking ass by the way.

It took my brother and I 2 days and a couple of trips to Lowes and VatoZone to finish it.

The car runs great with no leaks and sounds so much more sexy.

I'm getting tuned by Rick@Rallinspired on Tuesday (Aug 30th) and I'll update the thread after with a review.

If anyone has any questions about the swap just ask. =)

What did you buy Lowes and Vato Zone for the swap?

Vato Zone? Is it anything like AutoZone?
2 DAYS?? I guess you guys really took your time.
I know how that goes, looking for the right tools or missing tool right???

I will when I get off of work.
It's looks good but we "*insert derogatory name for black people*" rigged the shit out of it.
By custom I mean we took The X turbo inlet hose and cut it down 5 inches then took the K&N filter and cut off an inch on the neck then used lots of lube

And that makes it fit perfectly in the engine bay.

Yeah! It's the exact same thing as AutoZone but different.

Just random odds and ends like Grade 8 bolts, Banjo Bolts, longer lines, better tools to replace the shitty Wal Mart ones as they broke.

It took 2 days because there is one bolt that bolts the turbine housing to the block and it sits in such an awkward angle we had to use 3 different impacts with a swivel and 6 feet worth of extensions to finally break it loose.
After that we gave up and went to bed haha

You meant the bottom bolt for Exhaust Manifold to the block? Pb Blast does wonders for hard to remove bolts.

No, theres another bolt you can only get to through the passenger side fender well it holds the turbine housing in place. It was stuck in there forever even with PB Blaster haha.

Of course I'll be modding forever.
I plan on getting a LICP and eventually a real intake and a mini battery, Manifold, DP.
And since its my track baby I'll be adding a SST cooler too. I only lasted 2 and a half sessions at Streets of Willow before it overheated.
And in the late future upgrading to an FP Green, E85 and clutch packs.
Bye bye money. =(

i always wondered what i was supposed to do for an intake once i did the evo x turbo swap. can my stock air box work with the evo x turbo or do i need to buy an aftermarket evo x air intake for it to work. I don't really want to go to a sri because i live in canada and a small battery wouldn't be good for the cold winters, so i was thinking about buying the ralliart aem intake that just came out, but i don't want to buy it and then not be able to use it with the evo x turbo. is there a special elbow or pipe that i could buy to make the stock box work for the time being?

thanks!
