Default Should I buy a used Ralliart with mods?

Hello I've been looking for a local Ralliart for a little while and someone has one for sale not too far from here, but it is modified. Should I be worried?

It is a 2010 Ralliart with 33k miles, he is asking 19k OBO. He said it has an Evo X turbo with full supporting bolt ons and that he did the work himself.

Should I be worried that he did the work himself and if I test drive it what do I need to look for?

Thank you for your time,
Nathan

I live in Minot, ND, there are no local tuners that I'm aware of. I would also have to go pretty far out of state to buy a new Ralliart.

Are there any issues I could check for by myself, with the car?

Thanks for the replies.

well if you really like to get a good ra then the travel out of state would be fun and at the same time you break in your car and you have warranty. no hassle of checking wether the used car is still ok. just my .2 cents

^true...especially you're in a middle of no where (no offense)...unless the guy can provide you with ALL receipts of work done...w/paperwork of tune from a reputable tuner...then I would go for it...but if not...get a new RA...

Cuz with RAs...too much mods w/o a proper tune...there will be problems...

totally depends on the car, owner and shop.

my RA (6800 miles in 2 years) has never had anyone other than English Racing here in Camas work on it. Not even an oil change has been done by someone else, myself included. (other than tires/wheels and stereo)

Aaron and the guys at English know the car inside and out... know every piece on it, why its there, who put it there and how. I would consider my modded RA a pretty safe purchase. likely safer than a used non-modded RA.

Mods:

[x] GST Boost Pill
[x] Evo-X FMIC
[x] Evo-X LICP
[x] Evo X UICP
[x] K&N Panel Filter
[x] English Tune #1 (265whp / 285wtq)
[x] ETS UICP
[x] Evo-X BOV
[x] ETS Test Pipe
[x] CBRD RAD Lite
[x] English Tune #2 (300whp / 300wtq)

Engine/Turbo - Done

[x] HD Tuning "Clutch" wheels (18lbs ea)
[x] Continental DWS

If he plans on modding the car his warranty probably goes out the window anyway. That said, new from dealer is safer than modded by some random guy.

With mild mods and a tune a legitimate warranty claim can be successfully taken care of. If you know what you are doing.

I would only buy a modded EVO or RalliArt form a guy I knew and trusted. One that was looked after by a trusted shop and I'd interview that shop about the car and owner too.

I would fully recommend to someone if they asked me about Ralli Nurse's car for example if you asked me. But there are other cars I'd tell you to run screaming from.
