Default Don't get mad at me...yet

So, hey..I've been reading up on Ecuflash, and all the goodies it can do, and I've been watching the 'intro to ecuflash ' on youtube. I get it..I also have the Tex cable, I navigate here ( http://forums.evolutionm.net/09-rall...t-basemap.html ) to get the rom mapping for my setup, but when I load it in ecuflash ( v1.44 ) it tells me " could not recognize this rom using any of the current definitions" error message. Even when I "continue" it still won't load, incorrect image size..what's the deal, yo?!

I'm tempted to $ Cobb..just so I won't smash things...

Thanks

Im not sure whats going on with that but I have Cobb AP and it works fine plus its pretty safe when it comes to the pre-loaded tunes. If you get a custom tune with Cobb AP go to a tuner who is knowledgeable with Cobb products

Did you load the definition XML file for your vehicle?

yes? I had to change the directory path. (I'm running OSX.) anyways, I copy and paste the *.xml files from golden evo definitions page into the /resources/rommetadata/mitsubishi/lancer sub directory in ecuflash, and then restart ecuflash. I then load the *.hex rom file, saved to my desktop, from http://forums.evolutionm.net/09-rall...t-basemap.html
( stock RA 91 octane)

and I still get the same error code.

On a side note, you guys are an encyclopedia of knowledge, inspiration, and admiration. Just saying...

which year model is your car? you might have the wrong definition.

Otherwise you might just need to restart ecuflash.

Definition needs to correspond to the same rom in order to be read. You just need to make sure you have the same year model def for same year model rom

I have the correct rom and definitions. I haven't plugged into the car yet, if that means anything.

ecuflash v1.38 ( newest available for the mac..sorry, in my last postings, I stated I had v1.44)

2009_RA_USDM_BaseMap_StockPILL_91oct_V30.007.hex

All 11 of the *.xml,( 536, 819, 922, 987 ) and the lancerbase.xml.

Still not working yet.

First, you read your base rom from your car. When this rom is loaded, it will tell you it's "Internal Id". This is the magic number you need to get the correct XML. You can also take the rom and upload it in the link below to find out.

Went for a rip. Man, its like the car is on red bull or something. Amped up son!

Thanks for the help GabOS!

Now I really REALLY REALLY gotta order a CBE..its like..the ONLY option....can't stop now...need more...power...
