Default Garage button

ok so ive been trying to figure out how i could make this work nd i was wondering if you guys can help me out.
i have a garage opener with a + and a - wire and i have a red button with a + and - wire would i be able to cut the two wires and twist them together and make it work? has anyone done it ive seen it on a Honda but the guy saddered(IDK if i spelled that right ha) together which i have no clue how to do.

You still need some sort of mechanism AKA button so it only shorts the circuits to initiate the opening or closing of the door. Hell you can use almost any button that uses a momentary type switch. in other words one that would disconnect the circuit as soon as you release your finger etc. Just go to the local home depot or whatever you can buy an actual replacement or if you were really cheap buy a door bell LOL !
