Yes, it is 3M but I'm not sure about the 1080 part

3M as a brand is great, but that have so many different kind of vinyls. Some can't handle sun, others can't handle weathering of any sort, some have glue that can damage your paint, some are very accessible to rock chips which will make your vinyl look very cheap and can also possibly damage your paint. The only vinyl we use on exteriors is 1080 series and 220 series, but using the cf dinoc vinyl is also not a bad choice. Sorry for the long response, but its good stuff to know when you're working with vinyl on your car!
