I don't really have any good ideas other then to keep trying... but I felt the need to post because I can't help but point out the irony between the situation and your user name

I hope you can get it out though! That is a pretty strange thing to have happen.

Thumbs up

U need to turn counter-clockwise, I know it can get confusing since u are upside down so u may tend to doubt yourself. Your best bet would be to buy one of these.

I do my own oil changes on my RA so i know the position of the filter can be difficult to reach (Its kinda high up there). I also use the K&N filter which has a nut on the end.

Lmao about the name relation thing.

Here's a little trick I learned in the trade, although I don't recommend it unless absolutely necessary. You'll need a flat head screwdriver and a hammer. Use the hammer to drive the screwdriver into the filter; you'll want to drive the screwdriver right in the middle of the filter horizontally. Once you have the screwdriver inserted twist and pry counterclockwise to get the filter off. A filter wrench works fairly well but sometimes you'll need a little more force. Keep in mind this may not work on all cars do to space limitations, but it should be fine on the RA.
